Brokerage Connect / faq

A few useful answers.

Why is an account missing?

Only accounts visible to your SnapTrade OAuth grant can be selected. Check the SnapTrade Dashboard, finish the initial brokerage sync, and reconnect this app if your grant needs updating. A brokerage may not expose every account type.

Why does an import contain no rows?

An empty requested window can be valid. Initial syncs may still be running. Some accounts do not expose holdings; when the provider marks holdings unavailable, the add-on reports that instead of treating the account as empty.

I denied consent or my connection link expired.

Choose Connect again to create a fresh single-use link. Sign in with the same Google account as the add-on. Forwarded links cannot be used to attach a different person’s account. Multiple connection attempts supersede older attempts.

What if my popup is blocked?

Use the explicit Open secure connection window link. The provider login runs in its own tab, not inside the sidebar iframe. Return to Sheets after approval; your connection status updates automatically. Select Check status if automatic checks have paused.

Why must I reconnect?

Access may have been revoked, a refresh token may be invalid, or a provider response could not be verified. Reconnect through the sidebar. Your existing values remain in Sheets.

Why is refresh waiting, or why does broker data look old?

SnapTrade limits request rates and different endpoints share an account budget. The sidebar displays a wait and resumes without holding an Apps Script execution open. Source data may be cached, delayed, or stale after a broken brokerage connection. Repair the connection in SnapTrade; the add-on cannot guarantee real-time data.

How do I enable experimental balance history?

SnapTrade documents an Add-on setting on its Customer Dashboard billing page and a maximum one-year lookback. Its public reference does not establish whether the OAuth app’s Commercial workspace, the Personal workspace, or the connection controls every OAuth entitlement. The publisher must confirm this with SnapTrade. A 403 is shown as unavailable; no substitute history is fabricated.

What happens in a shared or copied file?

People with spreadsheet access may see imported data, including hidden staging or backup tabs. Each add-on user authenticates independently and cannot reuse someone else’s grant. Copied files do not inherit refresh settings, and copied managed metadata cannot be reused as permission to write. Choose fresh empty destination tabs.

What if I close the sidebar mid-import?

Open the sidebar again and Continue. Fetch jobs expire after 24 hours. During a sheet commit, local backup and stage tabs support recovery even if the backend expires. Use Cancel / Recover; do not edit managed cells until recovery finishes.

Can I trade, schedule refresh, or use custom network formulas?

No. The app requests read access, provides manual refresh, and writes ordinary tables. Trading, unattended refresh, subscriptions, and billing are not implemented.

What does it cost?

Checked September 18, 2026: SnapTrade describes Personal as currently free and OAuth app access as a limited-time free preview. Future OAuth pricing is not finalized. This add-on has no billing implementation. Publisher hosting/database expenses are separate. None of these statements promises free access forever.

Read the current Personal pricing guidance and OAuth preview terms. Broker support and data availability remain subject to SnapTrade and the institution.
